Move your office without stopping your business
Office and company moving: a plan that protects your working time
An office move differs from a home move in one important way: every hour of downtime costs something. Staff wait, customers call and equipment has to be restarted. That is why office moves are usually planned for evenings or weekends, with a clear plan for every department and desk.
With SaudiMoving you describe the office, the number of staff, the furniture and the right timing, and your request reaches moving companies in your city with office-moving experience, who contact you with offers.

What does an office move include?
Dismantling and rebuilding desks
Desks, workstations, tables and cabinets, numbered to match the new floor plan. See furniture disassembly and assembly.
Packing equipment
Computers, screens and printers in bubble wrap, cables in labelled bags.
Files and archives
Files packed in boxes numbered by department and cabinet so they go back in place.
Safes and heavy equipment
Moving steel cabinets, large printers and kitchen appliances with enough hands.
Out-of-hours moves
In the evening or at the weekend to keep downtime low.
Temporary storage
For what won’t fit the new office or is waiting for refurbishment. See furniture storage.
How an office move is done, step by step
The move starts with a survey of the current and new office, then a simple plan of the new office showing where each department and desk goes. Each employee gets a number or colour to write on their boxes and equipment, so the crew knows where everything goes without asking you.
Before moving day staff pack their personal items and files, and IT disconnects equipment and the network and records the connections. On the day the crew dismantles furniture, wraps and moves the equipment, then rebuilds everything in place at the new office.
The next morning staff return to ready desks, and IT only has to bring the network and equipment back up. Read how to move your office without stopping your business.
If the office is large, moving in stages helps: archives and non-essential furniture a few days before, desks and equipment at the weekend, and final touches in the following days. That way not everything is loaded in one day, and staff can keep working until the last moment.
What to prepare before an office move
- The new office plan, with the location of each department and employee.
- One person on your side who deals with the moving company and decides on the day.
- Internet and phone lines arranged at the new office in advance.
- Coordination with both buildings’ management on lifts, parking and moving hours.
- Customers and suppliers informed of the new address and moving date.
- A list of sensitive equipment — servers, measuring devices — to be moved with special care.
Common office-moving problems
Longer downtime than expected
From delayed assembly or network. Move at the weekend and make sure the internet is ready beforehand.
Files and equipment in the wrong place
Numbering against the floor plan prevents it.
Missing cables
Bag each device’s cables together with the device.
Building restrictions
Some towers set moving hours and require lift bookings. Ask management early.
Questions to ask the moving company
- Do you have office-moving experience, and do you work evenings or weekends?
- Does the offer include dismantling and rebuilding desks and packing equipment?
- How many workers and trucks, and how many hours do you expect?
- How do you handle safes and sensitive equipment?
- What is your damage policy?
- Do you give a written offer with a timeline?
What affects the price of an office move?
We don’t quote prices, but these factors decide the offer:
- Office size and headcount
The number of desks, chairs, cabinets and devices.
- Floors and lifts
In towers the time depends heavily on the available lift.
- Timing
Evening or weekend work can change the price.
- Equipment and archives
Servers and large archives need extra packing and time.
- Distance
Within the city or to another city.

Office moving FAQ
Can an office be moved in one day?
Small and medium offices usually can, especially at the weekend. Large offices are sometimes moved in stages, department by department.
Do moving companies move servers and sensitive equipment?
They move them wrapped like any device, but disconnecting and restarting them is the job of your IT team or a specialist provider.
Can some furniture go into storage?
Yes, many companies offer temporary storage — mention it in the request.
Do I need permission from building management?
Usually in towers and commercial complexes, to book the lift and agree moving hours. Contact them early.
Do you move offices yourselves?
No. We pass your request to moving companies in your city; the agreement and the move are directly between you and the company.
Can the move happen only at the weekend?
Yes — many moving companies work weekends especially for office moves. Mention it in the request and book early, as those days are in demand.
