From the old front door to the right rooms
Home and apartment moving with one request
Moving from one apartment to another looks simple until the date gets close: wardrobes that need dismantling, appliances that need wrapping, a narrow staircase or a small lift, and companies quoting over the phone without seeing anything. That is why moving day ends up exhausting for many people — scratched furniture, lost screws and extra charges nobody agreed to.
With SaudiMoving you describe your move once: from where to where, the size of your home, floors and lifts, extras and the date. Your request reaches moving companies in your city, who contact you with their offers, so you can compare calmly and choose the one with a clear, written quote.

What does a home move usually include?
Packages differ between companies, but an apartment or house move usually covers this work, some of it as an extra:
Dismantling
Bedrooms, wardrobes, beds and large tables taken apart by a carpenter or fitter. Read about furniture disassembly and assembly.
Packing
Furniture wrapped in film and blankets, glass and electronics in bubble wrap, small items in boxes. Details under packing.
Loading and transport
Loading the truck in an order that protects heavy and fragile pieces, and driving it to the new home.
Unloading and placing
Carrying everything into the right rooms as you direct, instead of stacking it in the living room.
Reassembly
Putting dismantled furniture back together, and hanging curtains or mirrors if that is part of the quote.
Extras
Kitchen and AC removal and reinstall, a crane to lift furniture, or storage between two homes.
How a home move is usually done, step by step
A serious company understands the move before it prices it: it asks about rooms, large furniture, floors and lifts, and may ask for photos or a survey visit for larger homes. Once the date and price are agreed in writing, the crew arrives on time with packing materials and tools.
Work usually starts with the large furniture: wardrobes and beds are dismantled, parts are numbered and screws go into bags labelled with the piece they belong to. Furniture is then wrapped, boxes are filled and the truck is loaded heavy items first. At the new home everything is unloaded and placed room by room, then the dismantled pieces are reassembled.
Before the crew leaves, walk through the home with them: check every piece is assembled, nothing is left in the truck and the furniture is undamaged. Read what to check when the movers arrive and before they leave.
What to prepare before moving day
- A list of large furniture and appliances and the number of rooms — the basis of any accurate quote.
- Floor and lift details at both homes, and a lift booking with building management if required.
- Empty wardrobes and drawers, or agree that the company does the packing.
- Unplug appliances, and empty and dry the fridge at least a day before.
- A small bag for the first day: important papers, medicines, chargers and the new keys.
- A place for the truck to park near both homes, especially in busy districts.
A simple plan a few weeks ahead saves a lot. Read our moving checklist: 4 weeks, 1 week and 1 day before.
Common problems and how to avoid them
Scratched or broken furniture
Usually from weak packing or rushed loading. Ask about packing materials and make sure glass and glossy surfaces are wrapped separately.
Lost screws and parts
Happens when furniture is taken apart without numbering. Ask for screws in bags labelled per piece, kept with you or the crew lead.
Extra charges on the day
For floors, a crane or the kitchen. Agree in writing what the price includes and ask what could be added, and when.
A late crew, or no-show
Ask for confirmation the day before, the crew lead’s name and number, and don’t pay the full amount up front.
Boxes in the wrong rooms
Write the room name on every box, and be at the new home — or send someone — to direct the crew.
Questions to ask the moving company before booking
- Is the price in writing, and what exactly does it include — dismantling, packing, reassembly, materials?
- How many workers, what size of truck, and is one trip enough?
- Is a carpenter or fitter part of the crew?
- Do we need a crane because of the floor or a narrow staircase, and what does it cost?
- What happens if something is damaged during the move? Do you offer cover or compensation?
- Is the company registered, and who is responsible on the day?
- How is payment made, and is part of it paid after the job is finished?

What affects the price of a home move?
We don’t quote prices — they vary a lot between cities, companies and seasons — but these factors decide the offer:
- Home size and amount of furniture
Rooms, large furniture and appliances decide the crew size, the truck and the number of trips.
- Floor and lift
Upper floors without a lift, or with a small one, take more time and effort — sometimes a crane.
- Distance
A move within the district differs from one across the city, and both differ from moving between cities.
- Dismantling, reassembly and packing
Each adds time and materials, depending on the furniture.
- Kitchen and AC units
Removing and reinstalling the kitchen and AC is separate work that needs technicians.
- Timing
Month end, holidays and summer are busier; booking early gives you more choice.

Home moving FAQ
How long does an apartment move take?
It depends on the size of the apartment, the amount of furniture, the floor and the distance. A small apartment may take part of a day; a large home a full day or more. Ask the company for its estimate once you have described the home.
Do I need a survey before the quote?
For small apartments, a furniture list and clear photos are usually enough. For large homes and villas a survey gives a more accurate price and fewer extras on the day.
Is the company responsible for broken furniture?
That differs between companies. Ask before booking about their damage policy, get it in writing, and photograph valuable pieces before the move.
Can we move at the weekend?
Yes, with many companies — but weekends and month ends are in demand, so book early.
Do you do the move yourselves?
No. SaudiMoving passes your request to moving companies in your city; the agreement and the move are directly between you and the company you choose.
